Attendee Info

So, you’re interested in rad community events and physical media? You’re in the right place.

Fabulous question. Easiest answer: come by and see for yourself!

First, it’s pronounced “zeen”.

Zines have been around since forever in various iterations, but in more recent history they became what we know them as today during the Harlem Renaissance. Zines are small, human-made booklets that can be any size or shape and are not mass or commercially produced. There are two things that are ubiquitous for all zinesters (people who make zines) and that is a DIY ethos and a need to share – prose, art, dad jokes, doodles, whatever!

The wonderful thing about zines is that they can be about ANYTHING. So, come by the fest, find things you never knew you needed – and maybe get inspired to make your own!

You won’t find Marvel or DC comic books at a zine fest, but you will find indie comix.

Indie comix are independent comics – graphic novels comic strips – outside the mainstream publishing houses. Like zinesters, comix writers and authors are breathing life and energy into their storyline and creations! So, while you might not find a hero (or villain) you already know and love, you can be sure you’ll find something new, interesting, and exciting.

Still unsure? Give it a try – don’t find something cool, swing by the EZF merch/info table and we will direct you a handful of awesome local comic book shops. But it’s worth a shot!

If you have positive memories of the Scholastic Book Fair, have a very niche and specific fandom, or are interested in DIY art this is the event for you!

A zine fest is similar to an art market. 25+ local artists, zinesters, comix artists, photographers, poets, and are coming together to sell their self-published work. Come to Bayside’s new location, and wander the aisles of zines, comix, art prints, stickers, patches, pins, and more!

Zines can be about ANYTHING, and I can guarantee there’s something here for EVERYONE. (Unless you consider AI-generated slop “art”. You won’t find that here!)

Location: Bayside Cafe (the new location!)
2913 W Marine View Drive, Everett, WA 98201
Bayside will be serving their full menu of vegan comfort food ALL DAY! Please don’t eat in the zine room – keep your fingers clean to check out all the zines. (Try the pickles – trust me!)

Time: 11 AM – 5 PM, come anytime, stay as long as you like!

You, and all your friends! Come hang out – we genuinely think this is a first in Everett!

Evergreen Zine Fest is an All Ages event! That said, some material may not be appropriate for children or sensitive readers. A map will be available at the door with a way to identify vendors with 100% all ages content at their tables.

Who will you see at Evergreen Zine Fest? Check out our list of Vendors!

Entry to Evergreen Zine Fest is free!

Please wear a mask to help us all stay healthy. Masks will be available for free at the door – wear a mask, get a zine fest sticker FREE!

NO AI ART WILL BE DISPLAYED OR SOLD AT EVERGREEN ZINE FEST!

The DIY ethos is fundamental to zine culture, all zines/comix/art at the fest will be human-made. No generative AI content will be allowed to be sold.

See the Zine Fest FAQ page for additional info.

Each zinester/comix artist will have their own preferred payment method – cash and Venmo are most common.

Please note that Bayside does not have an ATM on site, so if cash is your preferred payment method, swing by the ATM first. There’s 4 in a 2 block radius.
